Jallikattu - Chasing the Unicorn called 'masculinity' which is disguised as a wild Buffalo: (Spoiler alert) " Art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed " ~ Cesar A. ( Seruppu in the case of Asuran and Nature in the case of Jallikattu ) It's almost like nature plays the protagonist and we regularly get to see 'her' in the most laid back and calm manner. Mahalaya (2019) Dir. Soumik Sen Cast. Subhasish Mukhopadhyay, Jishu Sengupta, Prosenjit Chatterjee When two gentle titans clash because of circumstances, the result can be dazzling. Soumik Sen's Mahalaya mixes history nostalgically because it takes us back to the time when Birendra Krishna Bhadra ( Subhasish Mukhopadhyay ) was dropped by Akashvani from their annual Mahisasurmardini programme. Uttam Kumar ( Jisshu Sengupta ) was brought in as a replacement but public outrage forces Akashvani to bring back Bhadra. Terrific writing complemented by the brilliant performances of the leads, make Mahalaya one of the finest Bengali movies to come out of the industry in a long long time.
